In March/April we will be lambing our flock of sheep on the Devon/Somerset border.  We offer lambing experience days for first time farmers, smallholders and anyone who would like to have a go! 

 

The day covers care of ewes and lambs during pregnancy, the birth process and after care of the lambs.  We encourage people to ask questions as well as sharing their own experiences.  The lambing is indoors with good. modern facilities.  Training and instruction is from full time shepherds who manage a flock of over 400 ewes.   We encourage people to get stuck in with 1-2-1 guidance.

 

We cannot guarantee the weather or the lambing so warm boots, clothes and a little patience are a must.

 

A hot lunch is provided as well as tea and coffee in our classroom facilities.  In addition we offer our "Quick Guide to Lambing" to take away for some extra reading.

We prefer to have a maximum of 4 people per day but larger groups can be accommodated.

The experience is adapted to your personal needs and requirements so please let us know if there are any special things you want to learn.

The experience is £100  per person (with a reduction for couples, families or larger groups).
