South Downs
Originally Julian and I had picked South Downs as our
chosen breed. However we were unable to find anyone with any for sale.
As a result we opted for the Dorset Downs and had given up hope of
finding any South Downs. Three months after our initial investigation
when I was just trying to pluck the courage to ask Julian if we could
try to find some again, we received a phone call from a family who had a
small flock and were looking for a new home for two ewe lambs. Fudge and
Crunchie are South Down ewe lambs and have to be the sweetest things in
the sheep world. |

| Fudge and Crunchie have produced some good lambs for
us. The first year lambs were known as the ugly sisters, because they
were not the prettiest things, but they grow on you and they taste
great.
