We have two breeds of sheep,
Dorset Downs and
South Downs.
Originally we wanted to just have South Downs, but we
found that they were really hard to find at a sensible price so we gave
up and found some Dorsets instead. Shortly afterwards we were contacted
by a smallholder who had some South Downs and needed to get rid of two
ewe lambs so we increased our flock.

Since then we have gained a few
more Southdown sheep and recently bought some more Dorset down ewe lambs
too. Both breeds are traditional native breeds and were on the
rare breeds list. They are strong and hardy sheep and do well in
our climate on the Blackdowns.
