Weekend Sheep Keeping Course

The Shepherd's Year

We are running a weekend sheep keeping course at Beech Hayes Farm.

An introduction to sheep keeping for the novice and wannabe shepherds.  The course will cover lambing and the year round management of your ewes.

We will be lambing our flock indoors hopefully enabling everyone to have full view of the lambing process.  We also have our artificial ewe (Ewegenie) so that everyone can have a go at correcting tricky presentations.

Lambing ewes permitting we will also cover many other aspects of sheep keeping; from conception to consumption and will be happy to tailor the course to your needs.

The course will run from 10 - 4 on Saturday and Sunday, but  going home at the correct time is not compulsory....especially when lambs are popping!!  A meal is provided on both days as well as tea and coffee.

Full notes to take away are provided too and we can also help arrange local B&B for those coming a distance.

Cost will be £120 for the weekend but places are limited.  If you wish you can attend for one day only we are running a 1 day "Lambing for beginners course" on 22nd January 2011.

To book, please email beechhayes@aol.com . There are only 10 places available so book now to avoid disappointment.  A booking deposit of £25 is required and group discounts are negotiable.

Dates available:

29th & 30th January 2011, 5th & 6th February 2011, 19th & 20th February 2011
