Introduction to Pig Keeping

This one day course is aimed at those who would like to keep a pig or two but don’t know where to start.

We will cover all the aspects from where and how to buy, through feeding, housing, fencing, basic health and welfare and how to assess readiness of pigs for slaughter.  Transporting and licensing basics will also be discussed, together with any other topics of relevant interest.

The course will run from 10am to 4om on Saturday 16th April 2011 and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
